1. Place candles in a secure upright position in the cake
2. Always leave at least 5 cm between burning candles
3. Take great care when lighting candles
4. Do not move a burning candle
5. Blow out the candles before they reach 1cm above the cake
6. Ensure no parts of the candle fall onto the cake and that melted wax or debris is removed before serving
